members and guests had a full and enjoyable day trying their hand at creating
and printing lino-cuts and drypoints on the studio press. Monoprints, using offset
oil painting techniques to produce hand prints, were also tried. Monoprints can
achieved without the press and proved popular as they could be done with a
freedom not possible using the other techniques, The programme runs
over two weeks. Everyone went "hands on" to produced black and white
prints with naturally mixed results for first timers (its harder than you think
to get a quality print first time) They will be back for more next week and
will enjoy playing with colours next tlme! We are hoping this will be the
start of an active print group meeting regularly to develop their techniques.
The Club has provided all of the basic equipment to get
this going, including one of the best presses around, so we hope you will be
encourage to try your hand.
