Ian Hancock, who passed away on Friday 11th October, was a long standing member of the Club and served a number of years on the committee.

His facility with colour was outstanding. Many of his paintings were committed to canvas or paper as soon as he decided on how the subject should be seen. This was based on a deep understanding of the techniques of the artists he admired. His recent talk on landscapes reflected this depth of knowledge.
