I am a self taught artist, working mainly in watercolour,
charcoal and conte.
I studied for an art degree late in life, and achieved a
BA ( hons) at the age of 63. I am also the author and
illustrator for “Quays to Newcastle” a short history of
Newcastle, and I also illustrated “Northern Folk,” a
collection of traditional north eastern folk songs.
My subject matter varies from the beautiful landscapes
of Northumberland and Cumberland to dynamic urban
townscapes I also love painting vibrant images of jazz
scenes and musicians.
